WebDec 4, 2024 · Most people on here have heard of the over rev check criteria effecting the renewal of Porsche Warranties. On the Gen1 Cayman S Redline is on the dial at 7200 and so the range one over rev is stated as: Range 1 Over rev >7200 but <7500. Range 2 Over rev >7500 but <7700. Range 3 Over rev >7700 but <7900. At 911Virgin our purchase policy prevents us from considering a car with engine over rev activity beyond the rev limiter within the last 50 operating hours. We are regularly approached to help interpret Rev Range Data. The ability to separate genuine incident from an erroneous recording is critical.

It has only been at the rev limiter for 1331 ignitions (1131 + 185 + 15). At 7200 RPM (where the rev limiter is set, IIRC) one ignition lasts 0.0004 seconds so, your car has been at the rev limiter for a whole of half a second.
