WebWhat is CIFS (Common Internet File System)? First things first, CIFS is not just a breathy synonym for SMB. It is a specific version of SMB which was developed by Microsoft in 1996 and rebranded as the Common Internet File System. Problem was, it became infamous for being buggy, chatty, and generally not performing well. WebIf cifs_zap_mapping() returned an error, we would return without putting the xid that we got earlier. Restructure cifs_file_strict_mmap() and cifs_file_mmap() to be more similar to each other and have a single point of return that always puts the xid.
