WebMy router at home (I phoned in) cannot ping www.github.com or github.com right now either. 1.1.1.1 and google.com respond near-instantly. That router has my public IP on it's interface, so it's as direct a test as it gets. But I CAN ping the IP of the www.github.com which succeeded for you.
